Hi, I'm Rose!  

I am the owner, operator, and content creator of Vintage Rose Sustainable Home Decor. 

Vintage shopping is my passion.  What began as a lifelong hobby has grown into a full-time occupation.  

I think of myself as an accidental vintage retailer.  After retiring from a career as a college professor, I opened a booth at an antique mall to sell some of the vintage home decor I had collected over the years.  Little did I know it would turn into a second vocation as a seller, shopper, and teacher of all things vintage.  

I appreciate good design and ALWAYS shop on a budget.  I believe it is possible to buy beautiful second-hand furnishings with great decorating results.  I never buy new if I can purchase used.  That is my decor philosophy.  

Vintage Rose Sustainable Home Decor is the place where I share my love of interior decorating, along with tips and tricks of vintage shopping and home furnishing on a budget.

This is my wonderful husband, Pete.  Without him none of my capricious schemes would be possible.  He is a funny, gentle, and supportive partner.  

The best thing about Pete is that he tries not to cringe when I start a sentence with "You know what I was thinking?"
